What’s really changed?
14th June 2017 … Two years on that 72 people were killed… This is a reminder that legislation NEEDS TO CHANGE! It needs to be tougher, more specific and NOT optional! #DemandChange
Although legislation is becoming stricter so much of it is on a voluntary basis… I don’t believe this is good enough. For example, Expanding polyurethane foam fillers (PU) or “Pink Expanding Foam” it’s been proven to NOT be fire retardant. Despite endless testing including the proof that it will burn within 8 minutes and releases toxic gasses the packaging states it is fire retardant. This has been said that on a voluntary basis packaging “should” change.
Should, could & woulds aren’t quick enough change when 5 days before the 2nd Grenfell anniversary a block of flats in Barking went up in flames.
